NPS Winter Championship Qualifying Rounds. This show is affiliated to the National Pony Society. The NPS classes will be run under NPS Rules. All ponies entered in these Championships must be 4 years old or over and registered in the Pure Bred section of their Mountain and Moorland Breed Society’s Stud Book, part breeds are not eligible. Owners do not have to be members of the NPS for their ponies to enter these classes but they will need to become Adult Showing members of the NPS to enter the finals at the NPS Spring Festival which will be held on 24th April 2010. All riders’ ages are as at 1st January in the current year. Riders of small stallions must be 11 years or over, riders of large stallions must be 14 years or over. In each class the three highest placed ponies, not already qualified, within the first six places, will qualify. Winnings in the 2009/10 Novice Winter Championships will not debar Novice ponies from the NPS 2010 Mountain and Moorland Novice Ridden competitions.
This show is a qualifier for the 2010 P(UK) Winter Championship Shows. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each qualifying class will qualify. Competitors in qualifying positions, who are not current members and register their horses/ponies in order for the qualification to remain valid. No qualification cards will be awarded in the ring.

Entries Close 9am Monday before the Competition. Entries received after the closing date will be charged late entry fee. Entries £10 per class. Numbers are limited Late entries £5.00 extra per class. (Entries classes 5-8 £8.00 late entry £15.00) CASH ONLY ON THE DAY

Registered in the respective Breed Society Stud Books of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Connemara, Dales, Fells, Highlands, New Forest and Welsh A, B, C or D. Not to have won a first prize of £10.00 or more in any open M&M in hand class before 1st  Jan in current year.
 
Class 2            8.30 am           P(UK) Keston Royal occasion M&M in hand winter championship M&M in hand Pony stallion, Mare or Gelding 4 years old and over. Registered in the respective Breed Society Stud Books of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Welsh Sec A or B. NPS/LEYHILLS M&M IN-HAND WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP This Competition is open to Mountain & Moorland ponies registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books, Small Breeds, Yearling, 2 and 3 years old Colt, Filly or Gelding,Small Breeds, 4 years and over, Stallion, Mare or Gelding.
 
Class 3            9.00 am           P(UK) Keston Royal occasion large breeds M&M in hand winter championship M&M in hand Pony stallion, Mare or Gelding 4 years old and over Registered in the respective purebred Society Stud Books of Connemara, Dales, Fells, Highlands, New Forest & Welsh Sec C or D, NPS/LEYHILLS M&M IN-HAND WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP Large Breeds, Yearling, 2 and 3 years old Colt, Filly or Gelding, Large Breeds, 4 years and over, Stallion, Mare or Gelding.      Handler any age, except for stallions or colts where the handler must be 14 years of age or over.

Class 4            10.00 am          P(uk) Chesham Young Handler Championship All classes to be judged on the handlers presentation and showing technique. Mare or gelding, 4yrs old and over, not exceeding 153cms, to be led by a handler who has attainted their 7th birthday but not attained their 14th birthday before 1st Jan in current yr.  Mare or Gelding, 4yrs old and over, not exceeding 158cms, to be led by a handler who has attainted their 14th b’day before 1st Jan in current yr. Within seven days handlers must become either a P(UK) junior or Senior Rider’s club member for the qualification to remain valid.

Class 6            11.00 am          Novice Ridden, never to have been placed in top three.

Pony not to have been placed first in any Ridden Mountain & Moorland Class prior to the commencement of the current Winter Series. All ponies in this class must be shown in a snaffle bridle. Rider any age (except stallions – see NPS Rules).
 
Class 10        NPS / HIRSTMUND STUD M&M PURE NOVICE RIDDEN WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP – large breeds This Competition is open to stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over which must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Book Connemara, Dales, Fells, Highlands, New Forest and Welsh Section C & D Pony not to have been placed first in any Ridden Mountain & Moorland Class prior to the commencement of the current Winter Series. All ponies in this class must be shown in a snaffle bridle.
 
 
 
Class 11          1.00 PM          P(UK) Confined Novice Colne M&M Leading Rein Winter Championship Mare or Gelding, 4yrs old & over, NOT to have won a first prize of £10.00 or more in an open Mixed M&M L/R class before 1st Jan in the current year. Ponies not to exceed 122cms and Must be registered in the respective purebred Society Stud Books of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest, and Welsh A or B. Riders not to have attained their 9th Birthday before1st Jan in current yr. To be led by an attendant & shown in a snaffle bridle, the lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.NPS/CHECKLEYBANK M&M NOVICE LEADING REIN WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP This Competition is open to mares and geldings four years old or over which must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain and Moorland Stud Book. Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest and Welsh Section A & B. Not exceeding 122cms.  Pony not to have won a first prize of £10 or more in any Leading Rein class. To be shown in a suitable snaffle bridle, the leading rein must be attached to the noseband only. The reins must go directly from the bit to the rider’s hands. Riders must have attained their 3rd but not have attained their 9th birthday (riders’ ages are as at 1st January in the current year).  
 
Class 12           1.30 pm      NPS / T.C. TACK & THINGS M&M LEADING REIN WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP This Competition is open to mares and geldings four years old or over, which must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain and Moorland Stud Book. Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest and Welsh Section A & B.  Not exceeding 122cms.  To be led by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle, the leading rein to be attached to the noseband only. The reins must go directly from the bit to the rider’s hands. Riders must have attained their 3rd but not have attained their 9th birthday (riders’ ages are as at 1st January in the current year).
 
Class 13          2.00 pm          P(UK) Confined Novice Waxwing M&M First Ridden Winter Championship Mare or Gelding, 4yrs old and over, NOT to have won a first prize of £10.00 or more in an open Mountain & Moorland First Ridden class before 1st January in the current year. Ponies not to exceed 128cms and must be registered in the respective purebred Society Stud Books of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest and Welsh Section A or B. Riders not to have attained their 12th Birthday before 1st January in the current year. Any suitable bridle acceptable NPS/CHECKLEYBANK M&M NOVICE FIRST RIDDEN WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP Pony Mare or Gelding, 4 yrs old and over, not exceeding 128cms, registered in the Pure Bred Section of the Breed Societies Stud Book of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest, Welsh section A or B. Riders must have attained their 3rdbirthday but must not have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Ponies must not be cantered apart from the individual show. To be shown in a suitable bridle. Not to have won a first prize of £10 or more in any First Ridden classification.
 
If entries are small we will run on from class 14 onwards

Riders not to have attained their 12th Birthday before 1st January in the current year.  NPS M&M FIRST RIDDEN WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP Pony Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms, registered in the pure Bred Section of the Breed Societies Stud Book of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest, Welsh section A or B.  Any suitable bridle acceptable.  Riders must have attained their 3rd b’day but must not have attained their 12th b’day before 1st Jan in the current yr.
 
Class 15          3.00 pm aproxamly          P(UK) Confined Novice Llanarth M&M Ridden Winter Championship Small Mixed M&M Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4yrs old and over. Registered in the pure Bred Section of the Breed Societies Stud books of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest and Welsh Sections A, or B. Rider any age. NOT to have won a first prize of £10.00 or more in an open mixed M&M classification before 1st Jan in the current yr. The   NPS/Firle Stud Novice ridden Winter Championship Pony not to have won a first prize of £10 or more in any open Ridden M&M Classification. Ponies are to be shown in a suitable bridle. Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest and Welsh Sections A, or B,stallion, mare or gelding ,  Rider any age.

NPS/ Snuggy Hoods Open ridden winter Championship  small breeds Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland and Welsh A& B stallion, mare or gelding , rider any age.
 
 
 
Class 17          P(UK)  Confined Novice Llanarth M&M Ridden Winter Championship large Mixed M&M Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4yrs old and over. Registered in the pure Bred Section of the Breed Societies Stud books Connemara, Dales, Fells, Highlands, New Forest and Welsh Section C & D;  Rider any age.   NPS/ Firle Stud Novice ridden Winter Championship Pony not to have won a first prize of £10 or more in any open Ridden M&M Classification. Ponies are to be shown in a suitable bridle. Connemara, Dales, Fells, Highlands, New Forest and Welsh Section C & D; stallion, mare or gelding. Rider any age.
 
 
 
Class 18          P(UK) LLanarth M&M Ridden Winter Championship Ridden Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4yrs old & over, registered in the respective purebred Society Stud Books of Connemara, Dales, Fells, Highlands, New Forest and Welsh Section C & D; . Rider any age. Rosette for best Jr, rider not to have attained their 14th b'day before 1st Jan in the current yr NPS/ Snuggy Hoods Open ridden winter Championship large breeds, Connemara, Dales, Fells, Highlands, New Forest and Welsh Section C & D; stallion, mare or gelding. Rider any age.

RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY  Please Read
 
Entries £10 per class. Numbers are limited. (Entries for classes 4-7 £7.00 late entry £10.00) Late entries £5.00 extra per class. Closing date 9am Monday before event.
 
1. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that the organisers, the Landowner, and his agents shall not be held responsible for any loss, injury, or damage to competitors, onlookers, their property, servants, or horses/ ponies, howsoever caused at East Soley E.C. 2000
 
2. In all cases the judges decision is final, East Soley reserves the right to refuse or cancel any entries without any reason for doing so. Whenever under this Regulation an entry is refused or an exhibit is refused admission or removed, the fees paid may at the discretion of East Soley be refunded.
 
3. SORRY - NO DOGS ALLOWED.
 
4. No refund of entry fees will be made.
 
5. The organisers reserve the right to cancel the show, alter classes, judges, times or any of the published information. In the event of cancellation, entry fees will be refunded less £2.00 to cover administration costs.
 
6. Ridden horses and ponies must be 4 years old and over.
 
7. No mucking out of Lorries - Please take your rubbish home with you. Thank you.
